How Does Microneedling Work?

Micro needling is a fairly new treatment but it has seen success from all over the world. This is a minimally invasive procedure in which needles are used to rejuvenate the skin around a problematic area.

We do not make use of any cutting tools because it is not a surgery per se, but the needles do penetrate the skin. This type of procedure naturally enhances the collagen levels in the body in order for the damaged area to be repaired. Depending on the type of scarring you have, you might need to undergo more than one treatment over a period of 6 weeks.

The way micro needling works is extremely simple and we conduct it right here in our offices. We take really thin needles and create a controlled skin injury around the problem area. Each puncture that we make causes the body to fill these wounds by creating more collagen and elastin.

This surge of collagen then moves to the entire problem area in order for it to improve in appearance and later disappear. Micro needling will then help to create a smoother texture of the skin and it will tighten the pores, making it a firmer.

Almost anyone can undergo micro needling, but we do recommend that you come in for a check-up first.

We prefer a thorough first appointment so that we can determine exactly what type of needles we need to use, where we need to place them for an effective result and how often you would need to come back.

You can book your first appointment via our telephone lines or you can fill in our comprehensive online appointment form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
