One of the hardest problems to solve when it comes to skin care is eliminating large pores on your nose and cheeks. Some people pick at their pores; some people excessively wash their face thinking that somehow the pores will shrink. Some people even purchase crazy expensive “miracle” creams that claim to eliminate pores.

Many people end up using these techniques for large pores that actually make the problem WORSE.

What Causes Large Pores

To understand how to get rid of these huge pores we need to figure out how they got so big in the first place.

Sun Exposure

That’s right, too much sun can lead to enlarged open pores. The sun damages the collagen, which ends up shrinking the elasticity of the walls of the skin pores.

Age

As you age your pores tend to open up more and enlarge. This most likely has to do with the fact that as you age your skin naturally loses its collagen and elasticity, which opens up the pores.

Excessive Oil Production

If oil production is normal then the oil will flow perfectly through the pore and the oil will spread over the face naturally. However, if you’re like many who produce too much oil then the oil will become backed up and clogged in the pore along with dirt and bacteria. This means that eventually the head of the clogged pore will become exposed and turn into a blackhead. At this point, not only do you have a large pore but also you have a large pore that’s visible because of a small black dot (blackhead).

Getting Rid of Pores

You see many commercials out there talking about how they can help you reduce pores. Have you ever tried them? Most likely they didn’t work. I know they didn’t work for me.

So before you go out and buy the next trendy, expensive, pore reducer you should try these remedies. You’ll save money and you won’t introduce harsh chemicals to your face that aren’t natural.

Lemon Juice, Cucumber Juice, and Rose Water

One of the best natural remedies out there to reduce pores is lemon juice. Lemons contain natural enzymes that can tighten and firm the skin.

Mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with a cup of rose water and ½ cup of cucumber juice. All you have to do is mix them together and apply to the affected area.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar acts as a natural astringent and skin toner that removes thickly clogged oils. Apple cider vinegar also tightens and shrinks pores.

All you have to do it mix apple cider vinegar with equal parts water, soak into a cotton ball, apply to affected area, let dry and remove with water.

Repeat this process every evening and within a few weeks, you’ll see awesome results.

Baking Soda Treatment

Baking soda acts as a gentle exfoliator and helps get rid of extra oil, dirt, and bacteria from your skin. Not only does it get rid of impurities, but it also helps reduce pore sizes in the process.

Combine two tablespoons of baking soda with lukewarm water to form a paste. Spread the mixture onto the affected areas and massage the paste in circles on your face.

Wash off the mixture after 30 seconds with cool water and repeat every day at the same time for 7 days. After 7 days cut down the frequency to 3-4 times per week.

Good Luck on Shrinking Your Pores!
